    1. Acceptance and Eligibility

    By creating an account, clicking to accept, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

    2. The Service

    Codessence provides tools for reflection, journaling, learning, and community connection, including an AI Wisdom Mentor and AI-generated insights. We may update, modify, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.

    3. AI Disclosure and Non-Reliance

    Codessence AI is not human and not a professional service. The AI Wisdom Mentor and AI outputs are generated by automated systems. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only and is not medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal, financial, or spiritual counseling. You are solely responsible for your choices and actions.

    4. Crisis / Emergency Disclaimer

    The Service does not provide crisis counseling or emergency services. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, contact emergency services or a qualified professional. In the U.S., you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).

    If you are in danger or think you may harm yourself or someone else, call your local emergency number immediately. In the U.S., call or text 988. Codessence is not an emergency service.

    If you express self-harm ideation to the AI Mentor, it is programmed to respond: “I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. I can’t help with emergencies. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number now. In the U.S., call or text 988. If you can, reach out to a trusted person or a licensed professional right away.”

    5. Accounts

    • You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of your login credentials.
    • You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it updated.
    • You will not access another person’s account or misrepresent your identity.
    • You are responsible for activities under your account unless caused by our breach of these Terms.

    6. User Content; Licenses; Feedback

    You retain ownership of content you submit (journal entries, uploads, posts). To operate the Service, you grant WOW a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process (including with AI), display, and transmit your content as necessary to provide the Service and as you direct through sharing controls.

    If you share content publicly or with the community, you acknowledge it may be visible to others. If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant WOW a right to use them without restriction or compensation.

    7. Community

    Community participation is optional and governed by the Community Guidelines below. We may remove content or suspend/terminate accounts for violations or to protect users and the Service.

    8. Subscriptions; Auto-Renewal; Cancellation

    Paid features may be offered through subscriptions or purchases. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. We provide a simple cancellation method consistent with applicable laws, including California automatic renewal requirements. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. For EU/UK consumers, statutory rights (including withdrawal rights) apply.

    9. Essence Points

    Essence Points are a virtual points system for in-app features. Essence Points have no cash value, are not legal tender, are not a currency, are not transferable outside the Service, and may not be sold. We may modify, suspend, or terminate the Essence Points program at any time, including earning rates and redemption options.

    10. Intellectual Property; Restrictions

    WOW owns the Service and its underlying technology, design, trademarks, and proprietary frameworks and content (including the Codessence methodology). You may not copy, distribute, reverse engineer, scrape, or use the Service to build competing products. You may use the Service only for your personal, non-commercial use unless we agree otherwise in writing.

    11. Prohibited Uses

    • Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
    • Harass, threaten, exploit, or attempt to manipulate other users.
    • Post content that is hateful, violent, sexually exploitative, or otherwise illegal.
    • Provide or solicit medical/therapeutic advice as a substitute for licensed professional care.
    • Attempt to bypass security, probe, scan, or test vulnerability, or interfere with operations.
    • Scrape content or use automated systems without our written permission.

    12. DMCA / Copyright Complaints

    If you believe content infringes your copyright, contact us with a notice including identification of the work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, and a statement under penalty of perjury. We may remove content and terminate repeat infringers.

    13. Disclaimers

    THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WOW DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE AI OUTPUT QUALITY, ACCURACY, OR FITNESS FOR ANY PURPOSE.

    14. Limitation of Liability

    TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WOW WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. WOW’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO WOW IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

    15. Indemnification

    You agree to indemnify and hold WOW harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

    16. Termination

    You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion. WOW may suspend or terminate access for violations, security reasons, legal compliance, or to protect users. Certain provisions survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits.

    17. Disputes; Arbitration; Class Action Waiver

    If permitted by law, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, with a small-claims carve-out. EU/UK consumers retain mandatory local forum rights and consumer protections.

    18. Miscellaneous

    • Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.
    • Assignment: WOW may assign these Terms; you may not assign without consent.
    • Electronic communications: You consent to receive notices electronically.
    • Force majeure: WOW is not liable for events beyond reasonable control.
    • Third-party services: Links and integrations may be subject to third-party terms.
    • Governing law: California, USA (subject to mandatory consumer protections).

    Community Guidelines

    Codessence community spaces are designed for respectful support, reflection, and learning. Participation is optional. These guidelines apply to circles, comments, messages, shared entries, and other community tools.

    Core Expectations

    • Be respectful and supportive. No harassment, hate, or threats.
    • Be honest about your experience; do not impersonate others.
    • Protect privacy — do not share personal information about others.
    • No exploitation of vulnerable users; no grooming, manipulation, or coercion.
    • No solicitation or recruitment. No spam.

    Prohibited Content and Conduct

    • Harassment, hate speech, discriminatory content, or threats of violence.
    • Sexual exploitation, pornography, or content involving minors (zero tolerance).
    • Doxxing or sharing private identifying information without permission.
    • Commercial solicitation, spam, scams, or pyramid schemes.
    • Instructions for self-harm, encouragement of self-harm, or content promoting harm.
    • Providing medical, psychological, or therapeutic instructions as a substitute for licensed professionals.
    • Misrepresenting AI-generated content as human-authored or as professional advice.

    Moderation and Enforcement

    We use AI-assisted tools and human review to enforce these guidelines. We may remove content, restrict visibility, suspend features, or terminate accounts. We may preserve evidence to investigate abuse or comply with law.

    19. Changes

    We may update these Terms. We will post updated Terms and update the Effective Date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
